Disappearing 9 patch - work in progress

It didn't take long for me to cut into my new fabric heh heh heh... I decided to try a dissapearing 9 patch pattern because I wanted something quick and easy that I hadn't tried before. It probably wasn't as quick and easy as I anticipated - because I decided to be random with my square placement when I sewed them and so it took a while for me to get the blocks placed to my liking. Next time I think I will try a slightly different tact and keep the big squares all the same maybe, but I'm really happy with how this turned out regardless.

I'm planning on adding a thin white border around and then a wider border of one of the prints - probably the stripe. Then to piece the back and send to my cousin for her gorgeous baby girl. My cousin requested something pink or purple, bright and girly. Well this is certainly bright and girl so hopefully she'll like it :)

And just for good measure - this is what happens when I leave my girls with their Nana... what does she do? - Play dress up and take a ZILLION photos of course... spot the real baby :) The dress Hannah is wearing was one of mine when I was her age, knitted by my Nana. Doll knitting also courtesy of my Nana, Hannah's great Granny.

I cant beleive how much Hannah and Audrey look alike in this photo! Especially because we have that same couch :-)
