I am going to be a little absent from here for a little while :( On Monday some little *ratbags broke into my home and stole my laptop & a few other things. So I am computer and internetless - big boo boo and I'm having total withdrawals already!! So until I can get a new computer with my insurance (hopefully not more than 3 weeks!!) I will be a bit out of action.
Look forward to catching you up with all my antics soon. xx

Busy bee-ing November...
One of my besties from my school days is coming to visit next Saturday for 2 weeks for my birthday (Insert EXCITED silly dance!!!!), so I decided that I better be organised with my bee blocks this month and get them done early. Especially since I have a huge list of sewing to do for Christmas after that, as well as finishing off my goodies for my modern swap partner. So here is my progress:
It's my month for Sew & Bee-Happy. I've asked everybody to make wonky eye-spy houses so that I can make a little village playmat for my girls. Hopefully with roads and everything. Here is my version, aptly named Hannah & Abbie's house (see them peaking through the windows). I still have to sew down the applique. This was my first effort at a house block and I think I might easily become addicted. Loved doing crazy free style piecing and seeing where I ended up!! Next time I might try appliquing the house too though. I found it a little difficult to keep it small enough when I pieced. I guess practise will make perfect.
Here are my 2 blocks for Bits & Pieces Bee. Mona requested colourful spiderweb blocks. Boy these babies are bright... but they do hold a certain charm. It's my first time making blocks with all colours included believe it or not. I've only worked with 1-3 colour schemes before. Not sure it's my forte. I'm a bit more of a colour scheme girl just because I find it easier I guess. I would eventually love to do some of these for my month in a bee though because I do love spiders web blocks!!
And just for good measure here is a photo of my Miss Abbie with 2 of her baby besties, rocking their named onesie's I made for them even if I do say so myself :) What cuties!!
Happy sewing everyone.
