Sew Mama Sew Giveaway...

Yay it's Sew Mama Sew Giveaway time again... I love giveaway time - what a lot of fun, and a great way to find some more inspiring blogs :) (You can find the master giveaway lists here... here... and here...

If you are here for the first time then welcome!!

When pondering what to offer as my giveaway this year I was a bit stuck at first. But it didn't take me too long to get unstuck... I don't know about you, but I really struggle to find great fabrics for boys!!
Boys just seem to miss out a lot of the time!
However, in the last couple of weeks I have found a couple of great fabrics for boys and I thought I'd share a bit of the love...

So, up for grabs in my giveaway I have 4 generous sized fat quarters of the following boy prints:

I also have some scraps of Riley blake's All Star 2 range which I will include in the package for you, but don't have a picture of those sorry...

Entry is simple: Just leave me a comment.
- If you can recommend any other great boy fabrics available at the moment that would be much appreciated, but it's not compulsory.

Best of luck guys! :)

PS Thank you so much everyone who commented on yesterday's post. I really really appreciate it, and feel so much better just for getting it out there! Will endeavor to email you all my personal thanks soon, but in the meantime just know that I love & appreciate you guys!!!!!! xx

Thank you so much for the chance to win these awesome fabrics. This is an amazing giveaway. Thanks again.

Great fabrics! Riley Black has definitely had some winners for boy fabric. I use a lot more tonal prints and solids for 'boy' projects. But Castle Peeps was cool, and I'm looking forward to 1001 Peeps, the follow up.

I really struggle to find good boy prints too. I love David Walker's Robots line, though I think it might be out of print now. Gorgeous colours and patterns!

I wish I had a recommendation but I don't. I've just had to figure out how to adapt with design beacuse of the lack of good ones (in my opinion) until recently

These are great boy fabrics! I'm always drawn to plaids, but other than that, I can't help with any recommendations. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

Now that I have a son (I've still not sewn anything for him yet except for a quilt), I've been on the look out for boy fabrics. I've just recently purchased some Stepping Stones: Little Monsters like this http://www.inspirefabrics.com/products/stepping-stones-little-monster-squares-navyred and Saffron Craig's Beetle Bugs http://www.inspirefabrics.com/products/saffron-craig-beetle-bugs-redgreenorange

I think they're great boy fabrics.

I have been pretty successful at finding cute boy fabric at JoAnns but I'm not sure what the fabric lines are called. I've had fun making some quilts out of them though!

I have a baby boy and discovering the joy of "boy" fabric. I've bought a couple of fat quarters in the Dr Seuss line, they're pretty cute and gender neutral!

Thanks

Boy prints are so hard. I dont often sew for boys but the last time I did I actually used a reclaimed sheet with puppies on it. So now I keep my eyes open for cute sheets.

Oh, woohoo - boy fabrics!!!!

I very much love the look of Boy Meadow Friends and look forward to the chance to get some. o.0

Older boys might like 'Off the Hook' from RJR. Then there is 'It's a Boy Thing' by Michael Miller, 'Whales & Otters Batiks' or 'It's a Jungle Out There' by Hoffman Fabrics, and 'Pirates Treasure' by Benartex.

Anonymous said...

Just love the fabric! Anytime I have to do a boy quilt I find a novelty fabric about a boy subject and then find other fabrics that complement it. I find I have a lot more choices that way for example if you search for fireman or train fabric you will get a lot more options than looking for a certian line of fabric geared to boys. Thanks for the giveaway chance

Let's hear it for the boys!
I don't know of a cute boy fabric because I am so new to sewing and have had the hardest time finding any:(
Thank you for the opportunity!

ps:I am a single mom and I know how hard it is to raise children with no breaks, no time for yourself to think somedays, but it looks & sounds to me like your doing a great job! Now that you have acknowledged what's going on your life will get better. I had to start taking medication for my depression and have been feeling a lot better but one thing that makes me sad is the only friend I have is my son because I isolated everyone from not only me but him as well.
Your family is in my prayers;)
I love your girls' ginger hair!!(I am a ginger too!)

Temima said...

Amazing! It really is very hard to find boy fabric out there.

amy dame said...

oh, i love the pickups! they're totally the kind of trucks i like too - my dream boy has tattooed half sleeves, wears a tank top, and drives a 50s ford. ;)

i think that while some prints of sherbet pips is totally girly, some of them aren't girly at all! Scooter is just a puppy, and in grey or red, it's totally gender neutral.

thanks so much for the giveaway!

Michael Miller has some great boy'stuff, with 3 boys at home I know how hard it is, there is pirates fabric coming out, thanks to all those pirates movies.

Love those animals prints on the left. My only suggestion is the Dr Suess fabric. It's good for either boys or girls. :)

Hmm... I know it's not quite the same (fewer waking hours together total, but spread out more, so it's different), but my husband's a doctor... with an 80 hour workweek, he comes home to sleep and that's about it. (His brother had it worse - it hadn't been cut from 120 hours yet. Then again, his brother wasn't married!) So I know it's tough and frustrating... but you're almost done, if you can make it another 7 months!

And, nice giveaway :)
