This was a present for my brother Simon & Natalie for their wedding present so I wanted to make sure I'd gifted it to them before I showed it off! I made it in their wedding colours green, grey & ivory (the blue is all me - lets just call it their "something blue" shall we!) to remind them of the day.

Because it was for a wedding present for 2 special people I wanted to try something complex which I wouldn't ordinarily be ballsy enough to try. I've been a long admirer of cathedral windows and have wanted to give them a go for a while. And in all honesty I thought that even the name "cathedral windows" was very appropriate considering that Si & Nat got married at "The Mission Estate" vineyard with their reception inside the beautiful old church there. So I gave it a go, and loved it so much that it was tempting to keep it :)

|Trying it out for size... hmmm... goes well with my bed quilt! Shame it's not for me!|
|A glimpse of the back... some Michael Miller Ivory fabric with grey detail & a sparkle...|
I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I think they are too.
I think it will be a while before I attempt to make one again though... so much ironing involved - sheesh!!
I will eventually make them a quilt too, but they would rather wait until they've settled somewhere first. So this is their "in the meantime" present.
Linking up for the first time today with Fabric Tuesday.
