Partying like a 1 year old Princess...

Today we threw Abbie a little party to celebrate her big coming of age :)
Our new church has a beautiful, big, very well equipped toddler play room & an outside playground, so we decided to hire it as a venue for Abbie's party {thereby taking the mess out of our house ;)} It went beautifully!...

The weather really turned it on and we had a blue dome, sunny winters morning. The kids had a great time. The birthday girl seemed to have an exceptional time, eating all kinds of fun things for the first time and deciding that they were really quite something! ;) "I'll have some more of that thanks Mum!!"

So I thought I'd share a few photos of the day... (sorry I haven't shown you any of the guests because I couldn't be bothered getting all of their permission before posting this...)

The birthday girl running around not sure what to get into first!
Big sister making full use of the dress ups...

The cake... next year I really must put a bit of effort in with the cake & not throw something together the morning of...
Team yellow about to cut the cake. Can you guess the theme colour by any chance?!
I bet the parents loved me for sending the kids home with sugar explosions in a bag LOL....
(& they each got a can of playdough as well)
It wouldn't be a true party without some tears... "my mean Mummy took someone elses drink off me! Waaaahhhhhh!!"
Back home opening the presents... Lots of noisy ones... thanks guys!! Lol...
What a fun day!

But I have to say that I did breath a little sigh of relief once it was all over & I could put my feet up! This week has been insanely busy, so it was nice for everything to be finished and to be able to wind down!!

***

On a side note; I was lucky enough to have 2 of my good crafty bloggy friends at the party to help us celebrate. Both of them honoured Abbie with handmade gifts. That was very appreciated by me since usually I'm the one giving handmade things & not the one receiving them (although technically it was Abbie receiving them and not me! lol...)...

Very cute crocheted hat & boots by this clever lass...

And an awesome Superhero cape by this clever lass... (who by the way also has some great examples of my patchwork pouch tutorial made in her most recent post!)

And no, our internet is still not live... it has taken me ALL afternoon to upload these tiny photos.
Neil is on the phone to technical support as we speak so hopefully it will not be too much longer!

Hope you are also having a lovely weekend!

Fabulous family photo! Looks like the birthday girl had a great time. Did you sing 'It's My Party and I Can Cry If I Want To' when she had her mini meltdown? Neil must have been so proud - three beautiful girls in the family.

Loved all the photos . It looks like everyone had a marvellous time. It's a law of the universe that the Playdough cancelled out the sugar from the gift bags. Parents would have loved your creativity.
