But I'm in a snot with my cutter tonight and I'm procrastinating getting over my snot with it, so just humour me while I write about something completely unrelated to work or creativity (and kind of an ironic topic for me since I'm the queen of lazy when it comes to all things housework!).
So anyway... my favourite thing this week is....
My Nature's Direct herbal cleaning products:
Yeah. Seriously. I really am writing about cleaning products - it's not a joke!
And I am not being sponsored to write this.
Nor do I work for them!
No financial gain or otherwise for me whatsoever, honest.
So why?! and What the?!
Well I'll tell you "what the" shall I...
** These products are 100% natural and also non toxic. That means that they are 100% safe for the environment. (well that's what they tell me. I'm no scientist so lets not get technical).
But just as importantly that means that they are completely safe to have around my kids. (Therefore I don't have to worry about my cute-as-pie little babies tooshies to be soaking up any harmful chemicals through their skin after I've cleaned the bath or anything random like that. Or harmful effects from them accidentally drinking them etc...)
** They smell great, which is a definite bonus to me because I never could get my head around having the smell of baking soda and vinegar in my house after I decided to go all natural. Yick. Vinegar smell everywhere = no thanks. These make the house smell so clean. I'm sometimes tempted just to spray them around and pretend that I cleaned...
** They are proven to kill all the yucky bacteria. - Die germies die!
** They don't cost anymore* than supermarket products - a.k.a the ones with the warning labels as long as my arm and no ingredients disclosed. Take a look at that next time you pick them up I dare you. My supermarket air freshener/surface sanitiser actually said on it "do not spray near birds as this is harmful to their health" or something to that extent. What it really meant was "do not spray near your pet budgie because it will then hang upside down and die". True story. Wasn't my budgie though thank goodness. If they can kill a budgie then imagine what they are doing to us!
** I don't have to use gloves or anything when I'm cleaning the oven. Or a face mask for that matter. Yep my favourite thing about these is that I can spray my oven with the heavy duty one just as I start my kitchen clean up (with Abbie sitting in the highchair eating her toast), go about my dishes etc... while I leave it to sit a while. Then about 15-20 minutes later I can go back to it & with a little bit of light elbow grease, a steelo for the tough bits and a microfibre cloth my oven will sparkle. Literally sparkle. I'd never seen it so clean & shiny!!! (I really do cook on occasion - honest!) And it's really that quick & easy.
** I also love the pink one. It has a technical name but we just call it the pink one. It is both an air freshener, disinfectent & also sanitiser. So in other words you can use it sanitize your kids hands (it also comes in a purse size), clean your toilet and also to get rid of the husband's toilet smells. Bonus!
(will Neil comment on that one bwahahaha!)

So that is my crazy random favourite for the week. Bet my mother will never believe that I of all people wrote a blog post about cleaning products!!
If you are in Australia I would highly highly recommend that you check them out. You can check out their website here...
More favourite things here... and more things I'm loving posts here...
What's your favourite thing this week?
* In the long run. They cost more upfront though because you buy them in concentrate form and have to mix them up from that. It works out the same though.

Oh, I think I would love those! I have started using some of the Method cleaners and love them. Do you have that brand in Australia? I'm not a super freak about cleaning, but their all-purpose grapefruit cleaner has me swiping the counter tops much more often! Definitely better than the vinegar I was using! I came so close to writing my own post about it the other day, along with extolling the virtues of my steam mop, but thought everyone would think I was nuts!!
Hehe...you are too funny :)
I bought some of this from Megs party and wasn't sold...much prefer my w/vinegar and soda thank you very much and the smell doesn't linger for that long :)
x
hahaha - you are super awesome! I loved your post on avocado in a tube too.
I got stuck on the oven cleaning bit. Isn't that a husband's job? ;-) But you are right, natural is better.
The husbands job? Are we living on the same planet?.....I have never seen a man clean the oven! I hate cleaning the oven, I like the sound of those self cleaning ones and it is on my wish list. I use Enjo cloths, bi-carb and vinegar and lots of elbow grease, I don't think anything makes the housework a joy but I will go and check out your FTF for a look see. :-)
Hmmm, cleaning will never ever be on my list of favourites. I use Enjo cloths, bi- carb and vinegar too. I'm going to have a look at these products.
Oooh, I tried that avocado in a tube and it was perfect for adding to burritos.
I'm with Marg - vinegar rules.
You probably already know this. Should we expect a sequel?
Too funny! A post on cleaning products :D I liked all the info about them though. I try to use more natural stuff too. But as I rarely use my "big oven", I wouldn't need that one! lol (Mostly use my little "toaster oven" & have aluminum foil in the bottom) I rarely "really" cook, but I do love The Pioneer Woman & her cooking blog! LOL
Cleaning is not my fav either, but you are making me wish they carried these in the US.
Cleaning is definitely not one of my favorites .. glad someone enjoys it though. Glad you've found some cleaning products that work and are natural too!
We dont use a lot of harsh chemicals here either so your favourite isnt strange to me. I like the idea of things I dont need to suit up to use!
I really must try that avocado in a tube. I suppose that means a trip to Woolies or Coles.
I'm with Mindy - too funny, Kat. Would give them a try if they were local; otherwise it's vinegar for me.
Thanks for sharing.
I like the sound of these! Especially the one you used to clean your oven...might make that horrible task just a little bit less daunting :)
