Happiness is...

I have been in a bit "Bleh" space this week... plagued by constant headaches, husbandless again and with children who have decided that sleeping is for wimps. Only their attitude (and mine for that matter) without said sleep leaves something to be desired!
As a result I was having a bit too much of a pity party on Friday to think of something to write for my habitual "Favourite Thing Friday/Things I'm Loving" post. I tried to make myself think of something, but when it came down to it I decided to flag it and have a nap instead. Probably a wise choice at the time.

So I decided to give this ago today instead.... in which case:

Happiness {for me} is...
(all excerpts from my life over the last couple of days...)

**  Hearing the sweet sound of my children playing and giggling together in the other room. Sister love - what a beautiful thing!!...

**  Friday night sew ins with a good friend; chocolate, pyjamas, salt & vinegar chips, quiet calm & soothing company. A relaxed atmosphere where the conversation was all unspoken and unforced but I ended the evening feeling like I'd had the best conversation all week.

**  Being invited to dinner by good friends. Filling our tummies with good food and our soul with good company. Watching our children play like long lost cousins.

**  Sunday lunch with siblings in a place far away from where we grew up. Thinking how lucky I am to have 2 members of my immediate family living in Perth for this season!

**  Skyping on the big screen TV with my Dad for Fathers Day and thinking how wonderous is technology - it felt like we were all in the same room!

**  The laughter that resulted from a bad skype line. They may have been big but the conversation was "hil ar i ous ly     st i i i l t e d d .... d... d... ha.... ha...."

**  Blowing bubbles with the girls. The person who invented bubbles deserves a medal I think. Bubbles rock!

**  Chocolate. Enough said.

**  Having people say such nice & encouraging comments about my latest swap creations.... bless their little cotton socks...

Partner B's goodies
Latest Mugrug & pouch for my 2nd partner in the "Goodie Swap 2011"

Mug Rug 2 back
Back of mug rug...

** The knowledge that at about 10.30pm tonight my husband is going to walk through the door. Shortest stint away ever. PHEW! Will be so nice to have him back home.

**  Quiet time while the girls nap together in which to write my blog...

Plenty to be happy about this weekend after all the "Bleh!"...

How bout you? .... What is your "happiness is?"

Oh honey, if you ever feel down, send me a line, i'll listen. My husband is living interstate for 4 years, yep, while i raise our 4 children. I am rather well rehearsed in this lifestyle as he's been in the Army for 15+ years & has missed much of everything, especially those 9 month war trips. He walked in last night, yahoo, a nice surprise for the children as he wasn't due until today - Father's Day!! It had been a month, it's about to be a very looooong break until the next visit, hang in there, it's for the greater good, i have to believe in that, it keeps me going every day, that & the gym!! This year has been very different with high school added to the mix of life, i'm loving it, her life is way more interesting than mine!!
Anyway, up for some virtual chocolate & craft chat anytime. Love Posie

So glad you are feeling better after the weekend! The blahs are no fun! Also glad that you have supportive friends and family so close. That sew-in sounds like so much fun! Completely love your swap items. Your partner will be pleased!

I always get *Bleh* at the end of the month. Its major bookwork time for me and I always get my monthlys as well, I don't even have much time to craft and make me feel better and a horse ride is out of the question at least until after I've finished the invoices. Luckily tomorrow morning is 'horse time' so I know it won't be long before I am back in good spirits. Nothing like a brisk fun up a hill and a morning in the bush to blow the cobwebs and *blehs* away. It was harder when the boys were little because I had to wait for hubby to be home for me to get some me time so I know just how you have been feeling. Your swap goodies are lovely! Jen xx

I know how you feel without sleep! I am often having a pity party as well!

My almost 9 month old has decided she doesn't want to sleep unless mommy rocks her. What?!?

Your mug rug and pouch are super adorable.

Yay for husbands returning!

I guess without the Bleh days , the good days wouldn't be so lovely. All your happiness things sound so wonderful. I love your rainbow mug rug!!

I hold the occasional pity party myself. You're entitled too.

Your mug rug is hit you in the face gorgeous.

Happiness today would be a day off work but unfortunately that's not going to happen. Why do I always feel creative on days I have to go to work !

Look at that swap goodness! Beautiful. My happiness right now...I have been gone for 4 days and my cat is here nested between my calves taking a nap. He never naps touching me, but won't let me out of his sight today. I am blog surfing/emailing to not move and make this last as long as possible. Happpiness is my lovey cat.

Sometimes it's the small things that make the biggest difference, isn't it?
I'm so far behind in my reading, that your DH is home by now - hooray!
