Tuesday Tidbits...

**  It's actually Monday as I start writing this. I almost never write my posts in advance, but I can't be bothered doing anything else tonight because my head is ouchy :(

**  Caused by too much grumping at my children I suspect. They were really tired today and more naughty than usual. I think we might all be getting a cold Gah!

**  In breaking news... today I (yes me!) baked!

**  There were as yummy as they looked too!

**  But it's ok you can relax - I'm not slipping into becoming a domestic goddess in the kitchen or anything...

**  After madly baking cupcakes before 8am (we had guests coming) I had had my fill of kitchen mastery and since I was then too lazy to make lunch I decided to eat 4 cupcakes instead. - They had fruit on so that was my part of my fruit intake for the day didn't ya know!

**  My contribution to dinner was chopping up baby tomatoes & cucumber and drizzling them with balsamic to accompany my Indian Takeaway butter chicken.

**  So yeah - no masterchef awards in this house any time soon!! Cooking and I are not usually friends. I would rather sew quite frankly :)
(Although really there's not a huge amount of that happening at the moment either)

**  So on that point I decided to make a 3rd mug rug to replace one of my previous ones:

Which one?!

... in the Goodie Swap. Both my partners liked the same mugrug (although I'm not telling which) so I decided to give it to the one who shouted loudest and try again for the other.

**  This is the progress so far for my 3rd mugrug...

**  I used this tute by my friend Jill. It was a good chance to try out the technique since I have agreed to make Jill 2 in return for a block for my cheeky quilt.

**  I really like it (pretty predictable since it's my favourite colours!!) and the tute was really easy to follow - thanks Jill! Everyone in the swap thought I paper pieced it, but to be honest I really wouldn't remember the first thing about how to paper piece since I've only done it once - a year ago!

**  I think this will be the final glimpse of it that my partner gets though because I have some things planned which will totally give the game away, if she hasn't guessed already...

**  In other news I have recently learned never say never!

**  A few weeks ago I recall saying to a friend of mine that you would never catch me dead buying a vintage sheet!

**  I meant no harm by saying this because said friend (and lots of my other friends!) is very into vintage sheets and I admire that. They are just generally not a love of mine.

** But I take it back. Because on a crazy whim I walked past my local thrift shop (on the way to buy milk as you do) and spotted this lovely...

**  It made me so nostalgic since I had a Holly Hobby duvet cover in the same colours and style when I was a girl, and I thought it would make such a lovely quilt back, that I just had to have it...

**  So I stand corrected!! I am now officially part of the vintage sheet club.

**  Kind of. I don't expect it will become a habit though. But again - never say never I guess!

**  I am having 3 friends over tomorrow to help me brand 50 t-shirts for an upcoming conference.

**  I have to say that I'm going to be a little relieved when this job is over. The suspense of such a large job is looming over me and I think it might free up my brain a little once it's over. I hope so anyway!

**  I am on the other hand very excited about my first self-run swap! If you missed yesterday's post and would like to be part of the Scrappy swap 2011, then come take a read and play along with us! :)

Coming soon to a blog near you...

**  Tuesday afternoon as I finish this and my head is still ouchy :( Be gone headache, be gone!!

And that is a glimpse into my Tuesday for the week.

Have I mentioned lately that I love Tuesday Tidbits? It makes such a nice change to bullet point instead of writing attempting to write cohesive paragraphs!
Couldn't do it everyday though.

Linking up today to Fabric Tuesday.

The cupcakes look wonderful! You cracked me up when you mentioned that you would send the mug rug to the partner who shouted the loudest. It's my first swap and I'm so enjoying how people comment on the goodies we have posted. Yours are amazing! :)

I am soooo far behind this week in blog-reading & everything else it seems! My laptop at home keeps giving me threatening warnings that the hard disk has a problem & is in danger of IMMINENT FAILURE...ugh! Luckily it's under warranty. Unluckily, said warranty doesn't cover labor, so they are shipping me the new hard disk to install myself. Sooooo, although it is working OK, I just don't want to overdo it & really have it fail! & of course, I actually have had some work to do at work too, so not much time for reading - LOL
All that ramble, just to say that I am still here! lol
The cupcakes look fab, as does the new mugrug. Yikes, I'd better get back to work now...

The Holly Hobby vintage sheet is such a sweet find!! Have you finished your mug rugs and goodies? Mine are done and ready to be packaged up, write a little note, include a treat, etc... Can't wait to see who my partners are (and everyone else's). You are a very busy lady!!
