I've been having printer issues for longer than I care to remember. Very expensive, work related printer issues - of the complex type.
Not cool!
So yesterday, after having worked hard at clearing my backlog in the last week or two, I decided to bite the bullet and spend the day on it.
The verdict?!
Messy ink + carpet + favourite jeans + ink leak in the printer + probably irreparable damage to the printer = tears before bedtime.
And it's Still.not.working.
So I gave up, cried, vented, sulked and cried some more.
What a WASTE of a day!!
Now I'm not usually one to drown my sorrows, but I must admit that once I had the girls in bed last night and cracked open a bottle of wine I felt a lot better! (Not that I'm generally endorsing that method of helping oneself feel better...)
Then and only then did the vibe in the room start to improve and I did manage to do something productive...
Meet my first Blanket of Love
Small & simple but I really like it. Still waiting to be quilted but I'd had enough by then.
Doing something for someone else (especially a cute wee baby) was a very effective way to make me feel better though I have to say!
Today I decided to nap instead of "working" in my office because I was feeling rather the tired side and have an achy back. It didn't last for long though because Miss Hannah decided that she wasn't going to watch a movie today and that we needed to work instead. So she went and drew while I
She's getting really expressive with her drawing these days. Check out her first picture for me today:
That's a family portrait under a rainbow in case that's not obvious lol... The one with 3 legs on the left is Izzy our dog. I'm not sure what happened to the fourth because she does have 4, but in every picture today she only got 3. Lets hope Hannah's not prophetic!
Also note our happy smiles - all except Abbie. When I enquired why Abbie was the only one frowning I was informed that she "wanted her Mummy" - I suspect it's because she's currently a grumpy bum while she's sick personally - which is why she wants her Mummy all the time.
Well I thought this was a marvellous picture and raved about it so much that Hannah felt the need to draw me another one the same.
Then
I declined and remained in bed.
So she then had a third attempt at the same picture. Wanna see?
Hmmmm where are our smiles?!
Told you she was getting expressive!
Can you guess someone was a little miffed that Mummy wasn't feeling creative and full of energy today by any chance?!
At least someone got some use out of our creative space today LOL.
So I'm taking it easy tonight and winding down again in bed.
Not sulking this time, just having a relaxing evening off.
Wanna see my spoils?
Well the bottle was open - I couldn't very well let it go to waste could I!
Doh baby crying. So much for that! Better go.
Keeping it real here tonight, but then this is a "diary", so I guess if you wanna read then you have to take the bad with the good :)
Edited to add: Perhaps I won't link up this week since there's not much creativity to show - but pop over and have a look what everyone else is up to at my creative space anyhow.
Right - off to consume chocolate...

Nothing wrong with self medicating scrummy red and yummy brown. I do that on a daily ;-)
Oh I am soo sorry for your troubles. Oh gosh ... carpet and favorite jeans. Sending ((hugs)) your way! :o)
Your little one's drawing is a masterpiece!! :o)
I received your lovely fabric contribution to my give a way and nearly gasped when I opened the envelope. Thank you so much for your lovely little scraps that were sent!! I plan to do something extra special with them in my project! As the give a way date becomes closer, I will disclose my plans. :o)
Have a lovely week!!
Sincerely, Trish
Preen that carpet and go buy yourself a new printer. I got a really good photo one at the start of the year for under 150 bucks.
I do like your response though to your dilemma, although I’d be sucking a bottle of white wine! I LOVE mint slice.
Yep I agree with Laura, self medicating is the way to go :)
Love Hannah's drawings, it's amazing how expressive little ones drawings can be.
Hope you can resolve your printer problems and it's not going to cost a squillion.
You took an absolutely crap day and turned it into a marvellous post. And I love Hannah's drawings. She is remarkably good for three.
Sorry about the crappy day, hope the wine and chocolate are doing their thing...
I loved those drawings so much!! Thanks for sharing :)
Are you still on school holidays? I always end up exhausted after the first week of excitement and us all enjoying time together......the good with the bad :-) Wine and mint slice, perfect pick me up and I love the little quilt you made. Sorry to hear about the printer troubles...that ink is awful, hope they weren't your favourite jeans or a new carpet?
Hannah's drawings are so cute :-)
