** Are we surprised? No, I think not! I am a prize winning procrastinator when I want to be!!
** Instead I have been doing far more fun stuff, like sewing & fabric shopping. {oh, and then there's looking after my kids of course!} All much more fun if you ask me.
** So let me show you some of that instead - because I know you don't want to be seeing the huge pile of paperwork that is otherwise my only other news... ;)
** Sunday morning I decided to appease my mothers guilt for the day I spent working and ignoring my children, and I offered to make Hannah another twirly skirt & matching top as her reward for being so good and not trashing my house too badly {or nagging me too senseless}...
** This time she got to choose the fabric herself from my stash. Much to her delight!
** She has asked me to make something with this star fabric for her approximately
** But since I said she could pick I had to suck it up and give in.
** You know what - it actually looks fantastic I must admit. I think a skirt was the perfect use for it!! And she was a very happy girl getting to wear a brand new outfit to church that morning, which in turn made me a very happy mummy!
** Yes that's how quick these are - I made a top & skirt and got the 3 of us ready for church & out the door all by 9.10am. Yay me! (Although I have to admit that my children are insanely early risers!)
** I love that she loves it when I make things for her! Long may that last because I suspect it won't always be the case!
** In other news I finally made a good friend a baby quilt for her new baby boy on Sunday...
** I had all these charm squares but no idea what to do with them. So I just decided to stop procrastinating & make a start.
** I really like it now in it's simplicity, and think I might make another today for my October Blankets of Love contribution.
** Another quick project to satisfy my love of instant gratification!
Here is a close up of the quilting...
** I'll tell you about my new favourite tool for helping me mark those lines on the diagonal on Friday I think, because I'm in LOVE with it and now use it daily.
** Funny how I never like a project until the end though!
** We are off to a "Children's Party" in the park today.
** We went last year and they had pony rides, a petting zoo, a bouncy castle, face painting, little toddler rides, entertainment on a stage and a sausage sizzle.
** It was SO fun - Hannah loved it...
** And the best thing of all is that it is all FREE! Even the sausage sizzle!!!
** What a great town council putting that on to celebrate children huh!
** So on that note I better go get ready. I'll show you my finished DS Dolls quilt tomorrow for WIP Wednesday.
Enjoy your Tuesday!
Linking up as always with the all inspiring Fabric Tuesday.

A girl can never have too many skirts. This one is very pretty. It's good to sometimes let the kids choose. My kids stopped loving the clothes I made for them, around 12 years of age.
Hooray for finishes and double hooray for our girlies actually liking what we make them! I love your little boy quilt too!
That skirt/tee combo is pretty awesome as is the quilt...great job you!

Hi Kat
Do I keep my scraps? Only to a kinda compulsive obsessive level!
Back in July I blogged about the method I use. You may like to take a peek.
Love the skirt - not not not too bright.
Cheers
Linda
A party like that and free! Hope you are having a wonderful time. Love the bright skirt on Hannah. And don't worry, my girls still love me making things for them, just not skirts. You adapt.
You're right...the fabric is birds, not whales! The viewing screen on my mini laptop is insanely small, and I mostly only read blogs early early before everyone is up, but they look great in your baby quilt! I ordered special Christmas fabric to make Esther the skirt you posted a tutorial for. Thank you! The newest one you made is fantastic!!!
Love the little boy quilt . Simple but gorgeous.Your quilting is perfect.
Hannah did a great job of picking out fabric. That skirt looks so cute!
Cute, cute new outfit! Yay MOM!
Sound like you'll all have fun at the park - and even better - for FREE! We love free.
Cool outfit, glad she loves it (and WTG whipping it up so quickly!)
Cute quilt too.
Hope you had fun at the party :o)
