Here is the run down:
Blanket 1:
Thank you to Susan of Canadian Abroad, England for this gorgeous girly blanket
And a pic showing the back & binding...
Blanket 1 is loosely free motion quilted using a swirly heart pattern with white thread on the front & pink on the back.
As you can see I machine stitch my binding. How else do you think I got 5 quilts bound in 1 day :)
Feel free to yell out if anyone would like me to show you my method at some stage.
Blanket 2 & 3:
Thank you to Cindy of Fluffy Sheep Quilting for both of these gorgeous quilts.
Only I just realised as I put this post together that I have neglected to take photos of the lovely backs that Cindy pieced too, (sorry Cindy!) so if you would like to see them then you can visit Cindy's photos of the backs here... and here...
Blanket 2 was free motion quilted in an all over meandering pattern using cream thread in the top & bobbin.
Blanket 3 was kind of randomly quilted. It was the first one I did on the night so I tried to do something different to normal. Needless to say that I went back to basic all over stitches on the following quilts.
I hated it at first but perservered because to be quite honest I wasn't in the mood to unpick (am I ever?!), but in the end I quite like it. It looks the most interesting from the back.
Basically I did meandering around the borders, outline quilting in the squares, and a spiral in each of the circles.
Blanket 4:
This was assembled with orphan blocks sent from Alli. Such a great use for orphan blocks don't you think?
Quilted in a meandering swirly pattern with white thread.
Blanket 5:
From me...
And a close up showing the back, quilting & binding...
As you can see I did free motion meandering star quilting. I used green on the back & white on the front.
So I think that was a pretty successful first round!
If you would like donate any quilt tops or blocks for round 2 in 2012 then that would be awesome!
They are only really doll quilt size at around about 20-25 inches square.

Yea, for round one. Thank you for making such a great job of my quilt top. All the quilts look fabulous and I hope the families treasure them. It is such a good thing you are doing Kat.
