My Creative Space this week has been * shock horror * a bit more guy focussed than normal.
Not something I do naturally so I thought it needed documenting ;)
... With two small girls in the house, and quite a liking for the girly stuff myself, my stash is pretty dominated by pink & "pretty". But not so this week; my very limited stash of guy fabrics has been broken out {and almost depleted if I'm honest} all because of these things here...
Ipad covers in the making.
10 down... the rest to go. - I'm not committing on a number even though I have them cut out already, because after 10 I'm a little bit over sewing any more right at the moment.
Not to mention that the last 4 in a row I made I forgot to leave a hole for turning. DOH!
I'm not exaggerating either.
Words were spoken!!
Do you find it hard to find good "man" fabrics? Which ones to you favour?

Your iPad covers are awesome Kat. I have always found it hard to find nice 'male' fabric. I want to make our two young boys a quilt each but with fabric they can grow into to.
x
10 is usually my limit, as I just want to get on and sew something different. Yes, male fabric is always hard to find but now with Mr D Butler (aka Parson Gray)'s fabric, Curious Nature available, there's just a little bit more choice now. BTW, my favourite of your ipad cover would be the 2nd one. Love the little splash of colour.
Love the cases.
Guy fabric...a nightmare, especially when you don't want novelty! I've gone for Echino, Riley Blake All Stars and have a keen eye on Curious Nature right now!
I made a quilt for my boy, one that will last 'forever' I used a Kaffe Fassett pattern and his fabrics, there are bits of pink in there but it all goes so well you would never call it girly - I love it!
I like the man fabrics with the semi naked men on... of course, only some men would like these too ;-)
Great cases! Lovely fabrics! I agree the Curious Nature looks gorgeous and would be great for guys
Love the pacmen. Um, that new Parson Grey one was meant to be men-orientated I think, and the Daisie Janey grey one as well (obviously men aren't allowed colour in their lives ;o) ) I found a good kind of unisex selection in Ikea's prints if you have one of them nearby...
Great covers!
For guys I like to use classics: blue gingham and linen.
Even in brown, the Echino is my fave xxx
I've been into orange, aqua and brown for boys lately. Just darken them a bit from Hadley's fav tones and they become manly. Looking good, lovely!
I think you made great choices! Echino is always good... the glasses would work as well... so do stripes and plaids, and some dots...
There are some really good sites that highlight searches for manly fabrics other than that is is hard to find some that aren't just black and white =D
Great iPad covers Kat. I don't find it too hard to raid my stash for boy fabrics, there are lots of different combinations that I find I can make masculine.
love the fabrics - Parson Grey by David Butler is absolutely gorgeous fabric and would be great for man projects :)
LOVE those Ipad covers. Bet they sell like hotcakes.
I don't have a lot of man fabric in my stash , but I'm making my dad a quilt this year from Hometown fabrics.
Don't know how you managed 10 without going to sleep...well done they look great!
