Tuesday Tidbits...

**  Feeling a bit average here...

**  Firstly because the trend of Abbie waking at 10.30ish pm and screaming until 2.30am+ does not seem to be showing any signs of coming to an end :(

**  I need sleep!!
{said in a very melodramatic tantrum voice}.

**  This has been going on in various forms for over a month now and I'm t.i.r.e.d!

**  Secondly the storm warning for tonight has been upgraded to a category 2 cyclone warning. Estimated to hit us around 7pm and at it's worst at midnight onwards.

**  We have our emergency supplies at the ready in case we lose power again.

**  I've also shifted as much out of our yard and into undercover safety as I can.

**  They've already anticipated that so far the storms this week have surpassed those we had in March 2010 in severity, which caused over $650 million dollars of damage. And now we're expecting a round 2... Joy.

**  Thirdly, as if all that isn't already enough, we seem to be battling with some very cheeky & naughty behaviour from the little Flutters in our house at the moment...

**  It has been a month of travel & change of routine, so I guess that combined with cabin fever has started to take it's toll on everyone.

**  The highlight of that cheekiness was having my not quite 2 year old go from hysterical meltdown to complete calm in a split second at 2.30am this morning and blow a raspberry in my face when I finally gave in and gave her what she wanted.

**  Where do they even learn this stuff!!

**  Gah!

**  It's all no real surprise that I have no updates on the craft front...

**  I'm so sorry to be a moaner!
Not my usual style that's for sure.

** I will get over this shortly, the sun will come out in our house & above it in the next few days and this will just be remembered as a blip.

**  In the mean time please excuse me which I continue to grit my teeth and bear it...

Hope you blew a raspberry right back at her! Feeling for you and I fully understand how sleep deprivation can be used as a form of torture. Hope the weather doesn't do any harm to you all and the house, or anyone else for that matter.

My thoughts are with you, the only crumbs of comfort that I can offer are these. The weather will do as it wishes, you have done all you can in damage limitation, this will pass.Your sleepless nights will also pass, in time you will be reminiscing and it will be an amusing anecdote. Most parents go through a version of this and live to laugh again.

Ahhh, the joys of parenting. Don't worry, as my Granny used to say "this, too, will pass". And you'll soon turn round - as I do - and wonder how your wee darlings can possibly be 31 and 30.

In the meantime ... good luck!

Good to see you have your emergency supplies. They are an essential item here. We've lost power too many times to count. Lucky you, having gas hot water and cooking, that will at least make life easier if the power goes out.
I hope the little Flutter's sleep well soon, I know how hard it is to be sleep deprived.

Maybe she still is jet lagged! Good luck! Hope you can take a nap!

Wowza. I'm surprised you're not screaming as opposed to just having a wee moan... Hope you survive the winds okay!

I'm so sorry to hear of your sleep deprivation. Several nights this week my son (5 months) decided to wake up every ten minutes for an hour. Just enough time for me to get back in bed and fall asleep. So while it isn't as bad as screaming, I can relate a little bit.

arg - two year olds! Comfort yourself - maybe she's about to hit a milestone. Hang in there.

I hope you came through the night unscathed xxx

As for the screamer - have you done the ignoring thing? Worked with mine - it'll give you the guilts, but a couple of nights and she should get the message ;)

Hope things are back to normal soon =D

Hope you got through the storm okay!

Kat, I hope everything is ok at your house. We got battered, but no damage. It's hard with littlies, they do your head in sometimes, just keep doing your best... ♥

I was so happy the power didn't go out again! Even though I was kind of secretly wishing it as I ironed what seemed like ALL of our clothes watching telly that I couldn't hear!!
My 12 month old has started waking in the night, weaning her seems to be helping a bit but I miss my sleep!!
